Snowdrift threads samples of old Prokofiev recordings throughout their vintage tone layered post rock debut. This Seattle band has that rare definite chemistry, the shimmery slide guitar (Justin McCormick) and laid back drums (Keith Negley) wrap around Kat Terran's rich velvety vocals perfectly. Their rhodes and keys player, Derek Terran, produced the record and sequenced the carefully selected samples that seep the record in a dreamy, drifting psychadelic backdrop. The band self released the CD in 2005, it was re-mastered and mixed for release on Paradigm Records (UK) in 2007. Kat Terran had been touring and recording as a solo artist for several years before forming Snowdrift with Derek Terran in 2004. She commercially released 'Lion and Blue' in 2003, which was also produced by Derek. Since releasing the Snowdrift self-titled debut, the band has expanded to six members, and is preparing to release and tour their latest collection of songs
