eyes like knives
Formed in early 2001, Eyes Like Knives' mission is clear: drawing from influences ranging from Sonic Youth to Quicksand, My Bloody Valentine to Jane's Addiction; ELK just wants to bring the rock. They're gonna give you noisy guitars with melodic vocals, delay-soaked stoner rock, eerie piano pieces, and some god-damn metal. Rebekka's haunting punk cries provide an exciting complement to the dynamic of Scott's screamed and sung melodies.
Eyes Like Knives can be found consistently playing the Northeast with touring and local bands such as Denali, TV on the Radio, Detachment Kit, Skeleton Key, 27, Engine Down, Officer May and The Lot Six. In the very near future, ELK will be found barreling across the country in their enormous Ram-van heralding sonic destruction. With the promotional strength of Pirate!, in combination with college stations across the US, ELK is striving to take it to the next level... Their debut full-length, Slow Distractions (Dopamine) was #3 most added on CMJ the first week of November 2004 with over 150 stations added. They were also nominated for Boston Music Award Best New Local Rock Act in 2004.
